Timber Gradings explained:

Australiana Grade: (AKA Standard Grade)
A forest signature as unique as your own. (Image shown is Australian Beech Australiana)

Australian Grade is a unique and increasingly popular conservation grade introduced by Boral Timber. While every timber floor is uniquely individual, many people look for something even more distinctive - a finished product that stands alone, with character and a style of its own.

Australiana Grade is distinguished by the gum veins, spirals, burls, insect trails and other natural variations that give timber floors a unique character as individual as a signature. This grade is a visual chronicle of forest history including bush fires, floods, drought, insect travels and the natural variations that appear in the colour and grain of native hardwoods.

No two timber floors are identical; not even if they are the same species, the same age and from the same area. There will always be variations in colour tone and markings. However, Australiana is carefully graded to include the most interesting colour variations and distinctive timber markings to enhance the rustic, aged look of the solid floor.

Classic Grade: (AKA Select Grade)

If you like a uniform look with minimum natural variations in your timber flooring then Classic Grade Boral Timber is for you. Classic grade is also known as select grade and is premium grade timber without the insect trails, gum veins and other variations found in Australiana.

Whilst variations can add character to an application sometimes a uniform application is more appropriate and Boral Classic provide that quality look that you've come to expect from Australia's leading timber supplier. MYM.com.au specialise in supplying this premium grade timber at extremely competitive prices.
